(Another rain ride, but a nice one, the bike computer fuzzed up again!)
I think I made my best time so far on this ride. I base that on the fact that when I got to Hillsboro I helped unload the baggage truck. I had never arrived at the campsite that early before! It really was a beautiful ride through the rolling hills from Asheboro to Hillsboro. I decided to "gym-camp" again in Hillsboro. I got there early enough so I walked down town and ate lunch at a really nice sandwich shop. I went to a hardware store and go some new batteries for my back blinker. The blinker managed to eject itself somewhere along the way on the next day's ride and was lost forever. This is the same blinker that got run over by a car and I taped it back together. In hillsboro the gym was right next door to the public library which had some Internet terminals, so I stopped by and checked my email. It was amazing, I had absolutely no motivation to read any of them, just to look and see how much stuff was in my "inbox" (about 150 email messages). Getting away from the 'daily-grind' really is nice.
